Our purpose

Small objects. Meaningful possibilities.

Women’s empowerment is part of why Shilpgaatha exists. Our work connects practical learning with opportunities through handmade products.

01

Begin with skills.

Hands-on learning gives women a way to develop and practise craft techniques. Confidence grows through making, supported by patient guidance and experience.

02

Create room for earning.

Bringing handmade pieces to homes, workspaces and gifting occasions creates possibilities for skilled work to find a market. Earning and greater independence are central to the purpose described in our brand story.

03

Value traditions and resources.

Our collection takes inspiration from natural materials, inherited techniques and useful objects. We are interested in resourceful making and giving craft a lasting place in everyday life. Material and recycling details are confirmed for each piece rather than assumed across the whole collection.

04

Tell the story responsibly.

We will share specific project outcomes, first-person accounts and measured results as they are documented. For now, this page explains the purpose and approach behind our work.

A more thoughtful relationship with objects begins with a more thoughtful relationship with people.
